Think London enhances executive team and board

11-Mar-2009

Think London, the official foreign direct investment agency for London, has recently made a number of new appointments to both its executive team and non-executive board, strengthening its private sector experience and network.

mark_daviesMark Davies has been appointed as Marketing Director to lead a new, integrated marketing team, responsible for strategy, insight, and promotion of London as a business location. Based at its London headquarters in Canary Wharf, one of Mark’s central tasks will be to drive Think London’s inward investment action plan around London’s economic recovery. Mark takes over from Brendan Dineen, who returned to IBM after two years on secondment.

Mark has had extensive experience working across global markets and sectors implementing marketing strategy, and has been particularly active in the business technology and services markets. His enthusiasm for developing business opportunities in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia and his understanding of the ever-changing marketing industry were important factors in selecting him for the position. Prior to joining Think London, Mark was Marketing Director at Thomson Reuters, having held a variety of senior marketing, sales and general management positions with companies that include Misys, Hutchison-Whampoa, Xerox Corporation, and Siemens-Nixdorf.

paul_bromelowPaul Bromelow has been appointed as the new Global Sales Director, joining Think London on secondment from IBM Corporation. Paul is taking on a newly created role that integrates all Sales and Business Development teams across Think London’s worldwide operations. Paul’s responsibilities will include driving foreign direct investment to the UK Capital from established and emerging markets, as well as providing direction for business growth of existing clients.

During a long career in sales within IBM, Paul has worked across a wide range of industry sectors with large multinationals to SME businesses, most recently spending three years at IBM European HQ in Zurich. The selection of Paul for this role will leverage his cross cultural and international sales management skills across Think London’s global reach. He also has specialised knowledge in competitive sales, new business and channel development and brings a wealth of commercial experience to assist Think London clients in setting up and growing their business in London.

Think London has also recently announced the appointment of four new board members with specialisms across the aviation, media, technology and finance sectors. Tom Kelly, Communications Director at BAA, Gary Leih, Chairman and Chief Executive at Ogilvy Group UK, Nick Marsh, Global Managing Director of Executive Search at Harvey Nash and Tracey Pierce, Head of Equity Primary Markets at London Stock Exchange joined the Think London board in January 2009. Their experience and knowledge will help to build upon the recent successes for London’s foreign direct investment agency.
