The company
Bullseye Television is an Independent Production and Distribution Company originally based in Soho in London’s West End, which re-located to Acton in west London late in 2002. Bullseye TV produces documentaries, series and short features (including Lifestyle, Fashion, Celebrity, Royals, Eccentrics, Funny Animals, Sex & Romance, Crime and Medical) for international broadcasters. It retains the content rights for worldwide distribution by the in house sales team whenever possible. The company runs a development team, employs experienced producers, directors and researchers plus provides clients with facilities for filming and editing all over the UK.
Bullseye TV has an unusual blend for an independent film company by offering a mix between a production outfit, facilities house and a distribution company. Re-locating to west London provided Bullseye TV with larger premises, enabling the company to manage the growth of its business.
Some of the stations for which Bullseye TV has undertaken work include Channel 5, Bravo, Trouble and the Discovery network.
Why they chose London
According to Joerg Roth, Managing Director, Bullseye TV: “If you want to start a business in the TV industry and be recognised internationally, as Bullseye TV does, London is the place to be. London’s reputation comes before it and is proved by the fact that the same product is more successful if it comes out of London than if it comes from Germany. The world regards British and American TV as the best, and so to be the best you have to work next to the best and be located in London.”
Moving to west London, Bullseye TV is now located near the BBC and also major production companies such as Lion TV.
Commenting on the move to west London, Joerg Roth said: “Re-locating to west London meant that Bullseye TV is based in bigger premises, but can still be at the heart of the TV industry and also benefit from great transport links to the city. Being near Heathrow is also a major advantage for my business and my family as London has regular daily flights to Europe.”
Bullseye TV spent four years based in Soho before moving to Acton and now employs a team of 10 permanent staff, plus 25 freelancers.
How Think London helped
In 1998 Bullseye TV met with Think London and was amazed by the service that was offered to inward investors.
“I met with a German-speaking consultant at Think London who took me through every step of the way. I was introduced to accountants, property companies and banks.
Having this free and confidential service available was truly an advantage and would be for any inward investor wanting to set up in London. I would highly recommend Think London’s services to any business,” said Joerg Roth
Almost five years later Bullseye TV still maintains the relationship with Think London and used the services of its Aftercare Manager to take the stress out of having to relocate the business.
“Bullseye TV can rely on Think London whenever we need assistance and it is good to know that when entering a foreign country there are reliable people there to help and guide you,“ said Joerg Roth.
