Think London is the official foreign direct investment agency for London. We are a not-for-profit private-public partnership and the experts on doing business in the capital.
We visited Vancouver in February 2010, during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. This was the culmination of our Route to 2012 roadshow, during which we hosted a series of exclusive business events in key cities throughout North America.
The Vancouver visit included meetings with Canadian and other international businesses interested in expanding in London, attendance of partner and stakeholder events, as well as a VIP business breakfast:

This business breakfast was sponsored by GE and hosted by Think London, in partnership with DigiBC and supported by UK Trade & Investment.
The event, which took place at the GE Welcome Center in Vancouver, offered insight into how London is planning to deliver the first “Digital Games” in 2012, and the business opportunities in the digital media and broader creative industries sector in London, both now and in legacy time.
The event was attended by leading Canadian and international businesses in the creative industries sector and VIP guests from London and Canada.

Speakers
We were fortunate to have the following speakers at this event:
- Mark Elborne, President of GE UK, spoke about GE's presence in the UK and its focus on digital technology. He also spoke about GE's commitment to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in both Vancouver and then looking ahead to London in 2012.
- Michael Charlton, Chief Executive for Think London, spoke about London and Vancouver’s close connection, both as Olympic host cities and hubs for digital media. He introduced London’s strengths as a digital capital, highlighting the business opportunities for Canadian companies in London’s creative industries, including those associated with the 2012 Games. Mr Charlton also explained how Think London works with international businesses to help them establish a presence in London, and why NOW is the best time to do so.
